An army jawan allegedly climbed atop a water tank this evening and threatened to jump if he was not given leave in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
Lance Naik B B Pathak of Signal Regiment climbed atop the tank near an Army area in Birma Pull belt of Udhampur district, they said.
He was under stress due to some domestic problem, they said.
Senior Army officials rushed to the spot and persuaded him to get down, they said, adding, the Jawan came down after one and a half hour.
