The CBI has got the Defence Ministry’s permission to initiate a probe against the former commandant of the National Defence Academy, Lt Gen Jatinder Singh, in the alleged recruitment racket (NDA jobs scam).
Earlier this month, the investigating agency arrested seven persons, including two Colonels, in this connection.
The CBI had sought MoD’s permission to question Singh, after reportedly establishing a “money trail” connecting him and his brother to the scam.
According to the probe, bribes of Rs 3-5 lakh were allegedly paid for jobs as C-grade staff at NDA while Singh was the commandant there. Lt Gen Singh has since been removed from NDA.
CBI officials said Lt Gen Singh will soon be summoned for questioning.
The CBI has reportedly established that prime accused Col Kulbir Singh, who is among those arrested, handed over Rs 4 lakh to the brother of Lt Gen Singh during a meeting at Mumbai’s Oberoi Hotel on June 23.

If we go on reading the recent past history of scandals in the army, it is proved that the senior army officers –General, Lt. Generals, Maj Generals, & Brigadiers & some Colonels, are heavily drenched in the field of Heavy Corruption, rather than the fields of Battle & wars. They have surpassed the limits of the once blamed Politicians & the Civil services. The Army in general had been deliberately blaming the civil services for corruption, BUT the actualities are seen here clearly. What a shame ????
From this incident one can immagine uop to what extend the Indian army officers can go in corruption taking bribe from peons, gardeners and lower staff for recruitment and such highranking officers are invilved. What Mr. “VK” has to say on this. This is only one example which has come in light what might be happening inside? Only God can save this country now.They are more corrupt then politicians.
These are lower class appointments, & it has been seen that they are being filled by taking money. This way it is a major source of terrorists to penetrate into the defence areas. Any terrorist organisation will spend lacs of rupees to make their entry. The guilty should be punished for all these offences in addition to bribery.
Without any partiality CBI should investigate the matter and bring the culprits to the Justice. After investigation of this case by CBI the Court Martial should to do adequate justice so that in the future no one will think to dare irrespective rank or post.
