It all came to light when a Junior Commissioned Officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF) was caught with classified tactical information at the Bagdodra Airport. Six CDs and a hard disk were found on the Junior Warrant Officer that contained Air Force’s war plans particularly those related to North East. The top secret information also contained the use of newly placed Sukhoi 30s in Assam’s Tezpur base. The possession of this sensitive information with a Junior Warrant Officer has shocked the armed forces.
The Court of Inquiry has found the Junior Warrant Officer guilty with the IAF promising prompt action. But what has completely surprised the Court of Inquiry is the easy availability of classified information. The investigating officers discovered that the information were present on many computers in Chabua not that were not protected. This free access of strategic information has raised many questions, how did a Junior Warrant Officer get access to information of this nature and what is the IAF going to do about this security lapse?

hi,
where is this CI section , LU , AI, doing for ? what about his COO? Why they are not flowed the proper IT security ? why CD’s pen drive / flash drives port are allowed in systems .
why the physical check at base-ops / technical gates are not conducted properly ?
All classified secret matter to be dealt by senior officer who put more than 21 years services , why this rule is broken ?
Because of senior level officers are not serious about their business and “chalthahai ” attitude .
I used to see that, LU personals reports are not taking seriously by the local commander’s , so if you are not given proper attention to warning indicators things may go worse.
THIS IS THE LEVEL OF SECRECY . HOW CAN SUCH A VITAL INFORMATION CAN BE ENTRUSTED TO A JUNIOR CLASS-II OFFICER.
UNIT COMMANDER SHOULD ALSO BE TAKEN TO TASK & EXEMPLARY PUNISHMENT TO PERSON RESPONSIBLE IN CHAIN OF COMMAND
