An Army jawan has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Rakesh Kumar was posted with 17 Punjab regiment in Jharkhand and was on leave.
He hanged himself at his native Yogpur village in Samba district last evening, Station House Officer (SHO) Vijaypur, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj said.
The villagers rushed him to a hospital where doctors declared him brought dead, the SHO said. “We have registered a case and started investigation into the matter,” Bhardwaj said.
