An Army jawan today allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree at the signal centre of the Vajra Core headquarters here.
The body of 26-year-old Lans Naik Kanta Prasad Sachaan was found hanging with a tree near the signal centre this morning, Defence spokesman Naresh Vig said.
Prasad, who hailed from Kanpur, was posted in Delhi and had come at the signal centre on temporary basis on April 27, Vig said.
He was apparently depressed over family dispute.
Prima facie it appeared to be a case of suicide, but police are investigating the matter, Vig said.

Most of the jawans joining army live in world of dreams and before joining they never try to find out the harsh realities of army life. After joining and once they face the realities they get frustrated and start behaving in indiscipline manner which is never accepted in army. and the situation keep getting serious if the soldier is not ready to share his problems. Finally no one is responsible for all this other than himself.
I am the one of them who has been suffering since last six months, by officers harassment and I and my wife have written letters continously to higher authorities but till not cleared. At lastly I had gone to take help of court. There also same harassment by lawyers and judges. I had filed a case on 14 Sep 2011 at AFT, New Delhi, Court No 2. After court case they (repondents) taken two action. First they remove me from service and they remove my family from Govt accomodation. In this type I am sufferring every difficulties alongwith my family but no one want take care for quick on my matters. I had completed 16 years service in the Army. I have righted for all pensionary benefits but that is also not getting. Since the lawyer is saying that I will do my best in this month or next hearing but since seven months gone there is no action on my matter. I could not go for restettlment also because of lawyers comments that I could not clear exact date. When it will clear God knows, but we are still alive without help of anyone. Why the 26 years young soldiers commit suicide himself. This is required very serious on this matter. Day to day increasing suicide cases in the Indian Army only harassment by the officers.
It will sure harassment by any officer in the Indian Army, otherwise any misbehave against him. A 26 years young man why will suicide automatically. It should be investigated very rushly.
A real thorough POST MORTEM should be done to remove any doubts. The theory of Suicide does not appear to be true.
The suicide cases are increasing rapidly in the Indian Armed forces . Wait and watch will not be of any help to reduce the cases .This is high time for the Higher authorities to evaluate this alarming – pathetic situation, and remedial action taken . This will certainly be helpful in boosting the morale of our esteemed soldiers.
