Will Supreme Court summon Army Chief?

26 04 2012

The Supreme Court on Thursday will hear Lt Gen (retd) Tejinder Singh’s plea seeking a CBI probe into the role of Army Chief General VK Singh into the alleged incident in which the Army was reported to be spying on Ministry of Defence (MoD) officials.

In his petition, the retired Lt Gen said that he fears that his phones were tapped at the behest of the Army Chief and hence wants the CBI to probe the same.

Lt Gen Tejinder Singh was accused by Gen VK Singh of offering him a bribe to clear a deal for the all-terrain heavy duty Tatra trucks. The retired Lt Gen has also sought direction to the CBI to search Gen VK Singh’s residence and seize all the documents which may put his life and liberty under threat. He sought legal action against Army Chief of gross misuse of office, misconduct, offences against the state and against the petitioner.

The retired Lt Gen has alleged that Gen VK Singh had, in violation of service rules, made political statements about the Maoist problem being the creation of the government when it sought to requisition the army for operations in Maoist-infested areas.

The retired Lt Gen also sought guidelines for media on reporting any accusation by a public servant against a private citizen before even a complaint or a legal action has been initiated.

In this case, Gen VK Singh had gone to the media making allegations against Tejinder Singh even before filing a complaint and this, the retired Lt Gen said, violated his fundamental right and, therefore, he asked the court to go into the question of law.

As per reports, the CBI is likely to meet retired Lt Gen Tejinder Singh later this week in connection with the bribe complaint.

The Army Chief in his recent meeting with CBI had assured them that he would provide some “clinching” evidence to buttress his complaint that Singh had allegedly offered him a bribe to clear supply of a tranche of all-terrain vehicles.

The present CHEAP,of the Army has probably learnt much from the History of India which had a ruler who didnot bother to consider law of the land, i.e., Mohd Tughluk who had circulated ‘Chammre Ke Sikke’ as legal tender/currency. Therefore, just like Medieval Empror, the Cheap of Staff can very well act as alleged, in which the Army was reported to be spying on Ministry of Defence (MoD) officials, i.e. the Govt. of India. It is not only here but many people, like in U.K, have learnt to do this type non-sense, and these are the Kings of media empire in Murdocks in connivance with the British P.M. & other ministers who have spied on peoples private lives. The highest court of the land has to look into it otherwise it will give rise to another bad example of History.

It is upto the Hon’ble Supreme Court. Looking at the past 4-6 months behaviour of the Chief, which is known to the citizens, all over India & internationally, the matter should be investigated.
