Anil Kumar, a 25-year old corporal with the Indian Air Force, reportedly committed suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan in his house in Sector 28 on Monday night. The incident came to light when Air Force officials went to Anil’s house to check on him because he had not responded to repeated phone calls made to him. Police said Air Force officials entered the house after breaking open the door and found his body hanging from the ceiling fan.
The deceased was a native of Kanpur district in Uttar Pradesh and had got married around a year ago. His wife and parents, who live in Kanpur have been informed about his death by the Air Force officials.
The body was kept in the mortuary of Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, while inquest proceedings have been initiated.

It is unfortunate that the life of a young,able,soldier is lost. It is not easy for a mind to reach the level of sucide. mental illness is not treated like any other desease and never reported to the hospitals.Accute dipressive disorder would eventually push these people to the level of taking their own life. The signs are very clear and the reason for not identifyng the symptoms is not far to seek.
