Official sources said that the duo identified as Amit Kumar and Yajinder Singh of 25 Batallion CRPF was first caught by the locals in a house inhabited by tenants from Bandipora district in North Kashmir.
The locals later handed over the paramilitary soldiers to the police personnel who reached the spot following protest in the area.
Besides the duo, police has also arrested the tenant, they added.
When contacted, Station House Officer Farooq Ahmad confirmed the arrests. “Two CRPF men and the house owner are presently lodged in police station and further investigation in this regard was going on,” he said.
Public Relation Officer CRPF, Mohsin Shaheedi feigned ignorance about the incident and told a local news agency PBI that he will check-out the veracity of the reports.
Later, he didn’t respond to the repeated calls, according to the news agency.
